Costs and Insurance

I am recognised as a provider by all the major medical insurance companies (BUPA, BUPA International, Health Online, AXA PPP, Aviva, WPA, Vitality health, Cigna etc.) I will invoice the insurance company directly, providing you have obtained “preauthorisation”.

If at the time of making an appointment you are unfamiliar with the procedure, we will be happy to explain how you go about it. Insurance companies usually require a referral from your GP as a condition of the insurance policy.

Please bring your insurance details (policy number and authorisation number) to the initial consultation. If preauthorisation has not been obtained prior to the consultation you will be asked to pay on the day and should then forward invoices to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Increasingly, more and more patients are choosing private over NHS treatment for reasons of convenience, comfort and guaranteed consultant experience. Should you choose to self-fund, payment for outpatient treatment is made on the day of consultation.

The fee schedule for consultation and common additional outpatient investigations is as follows:

Initial consultation £195
Follow up consultation £130
Flexible endoscopy £110
Microsuction aural toilet £107
Cautery to nose £117
Epley balance correction manoeuver £100

The hospital or clinic may levy additional equipment charges, details of which they will provide on request.

The hospital or clinic will charge separately for audiometry. Charges will depend on which tests are performed. The London Road Clinic currently charges £30 for tympanometry & £70 for a pure tone audiogram.

Nuffield & Spire Hospitals charges are available directly from them.

Should you require surgery as an inpatient, a fixed cost package to include surgeon’s fees, anaesthetist fees, hospital costs and one postoperative follow up will be provided for you prior to commencing any treatment. Most private hospitals require payment in full before the time of treatment for self-funding patients.
